The Art

My art is sporadic and no two projects are the same, indeed much of my work has a mad max or sometimes incomplete aesthetic as I choose to move on to try and investigate new processes to expand my knowledge and my skills. As I mature as an artist I am finding that I am moving towards honing down some of these skills as an attempt at producing a more coherent portfolio. Much of my art is about using what is readily available, often in urban environments its building materials that are destined for landfill, or if in a natural environment then what can be transformed and embody the time and culture that informed this creator. On the one hand my art is grounded in an earthly science of material with what can be achieved through process and the sense of archaeological history and artifact; this processed matter will one day return to the earth from whence it came having been changed by human entropy, as art producers should those processes adversely effect our surroundings or should we work with them to embody our ideas? On the other hand my art can be very cerebral investigating the essence of consciousness and epistemology; what is thought and how does it feel to be thinking, aware as we are yet be made of much the same stuff that surrounds us.
